Kraft + August challenge

Hey everyone hope you're all well and getting creative

This is my interpretation of the challenge at Kraft + August challenge

This is the inspiration for the challenge

The photo was taken in Ballarat over the Queens birthday weekend (basketball tournament) by my friend Janine who kindly let me use it
It's so cool with the fog and the lights through the trees

I used lots of card pieces to add some layers and of course some metal

With the background I used some oxides - walnut stain and vintage photo through a stencil with tiny squares in it to give it a faded look and then rubbed some of the fossilized amber over parts where I had used impasto through a honeycomb stencil for a bit more colour

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will come back soon xx

Seaworld Resort for My Time To Craft

Hi Everyone

This photo was taken over 12 years ago when we went to Seaworld and stayed at their resort
It was so peaceful that day when I took the photo
I'd forgotten about it until recently

This is for the sketch challenge at My Time To Craft so make sure you visit the Blog, join in and check out the inspiration form the Design Team

I created a video on

This is my interpretation of the sketch

I used crackle paste to get the foamy sandy look with a little bit of embossing powder a sand colour

On the background I used water paper with Twinkling h20s in Sea Spray, Dutch Iris, Ocean Wave and a little splatter of Vanilla Bean Which I also used over the crackle paste

All the metal, chipboard and some of the flowers were also coloured with the H2os

I then sprinkled some Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powder in Bavarian Blue and added some sand into the impasto to give more texture

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will be back soon xx

Travel Journal for Mixed Media Warriors Challenge

Hi everyone

This challenge is so pretty and colours I love to use so I created a travel journal cause thats what this mood board makes me feel

Mixed Media Warriors have an awesome challenge site if you love to do mixed media check out their Blog

I attached two canvases with cardstock folded in half to make a book I like the thickness of the canvasses - they make it very sturdy for when you show off your travel photos

The canvas was painted with Alchemy Art paints - Light Patina, Vintage Rose and Opal Magic Green-Gold I love the shimmer

I used a Scrap FX Paint Brushes stencil I love how thick the stencil it is

The paper I used were some captured moments cards I have had for awhile from Kaisercraft

And then there is always metal and flowers needed

I painted the edges of the paper just for a bit more interest

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will be back soon xx

Roses for the July Kraft Plus challenge

Hey everyone I had time to get some challenge done I haven't participated in any for awhile so I've entered the Kraft+  challenge

This month at Kraft+ challenge blog is all about roses

So I had to use roses 3 ways - here's my interpretation of the criteria I used a stencil, paper roses, paper with roses and a paper clay ceiling rose LOL

I uses an embroidery hoop that I made look rusty using brown paint and some fine sand on the base and some burnt sienna with a bit of texture powder mixed through to make it a bit thicker then randomly painted it over the hoop

I used bits of the PRIMA Rose Quartz Range

Floral Roses Mask from Prima with Snow White Colour Blast Paste

I painted the embellishments, ceiling rose and brushed the flowers with Art Alchemy Paint Opal Magic Rose Gold it's so pretty

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will come back soon xx

I used the Prima Alchemy Paints in the opal colours to give a soft glow around the photo

I used the Tile pattern stencil, Metal charms and the Butterflies from Scrapmatts

Christmas in July hoop for My Time To Craft Challenges

Our theme this time is Christmas in July over at the My Time To Craft Blog

Make sure you go and check out the inspiration from the other Design Team members and enter the challenge for some fun

I was given this photo by a friend of her grand daughter and her brothers that was taken at Christmas I hadn't scrapped it as I knew I wanted to do something more than just a layout with it
The photo is so cute and I still can't believe that the baby and the dogs sat still long enough for them to get the photo

I used a sewing hoop as the frame which I covered in brown paint then Rusty Paper paint (it's one of my favourite things to use) and I also used it on Prima Marseille Grand frame
I dotted some of the Finnabair Art Extravagance Patina Paste around the hoop and on the frame

The paper is Wildflower Specialty Gloss Paper by Kaisercraft and I used Candy Shimmer Dust from Colour Blast over the paper I then used Colour Blast Snow White Paste in a diamond stencil it gives just a touch of shimmer

On the You Make Me Smile cut out I used the Art Alchemy-Metallique Wax-Brushed Iron it's so smooth and comes up so nice

And then embellished it with flowers and bling and a few other bits and pieces

I did the final flick of watered down gesso and that was it

I loved the way the rust paint came out and the red shimmer dust mixed with water just gives that pop of colour  - Christmas in July Hoop Frame

Thanks for visiting and I hope you you come back soon xx

On the farm With My Time To Craft

The challenge for My Time To Craft Challenge is something to do with down on the farm
Make sure you come over to the BLOG to see what the other design team members came up with

I don't really have a farm to visit or spend time at so when I was trying to work out what to do I came across this photo online and that made me feel like I was there

The flowers are so pretty

I made it a simple layout as I wanted the photo to be the main focus

Thanks for visiting I hope you will come back soon xx

Friday, 2 June 2017

A friend of my daughter and her fianc├ęs took this photo and I had to use it

I bought some more  Colour Blast products and had to have a play

I used a Kaisercraft Be-YOU-tiful gloss specialty paper it has like a resist effect so when I sprinkled the Duke Shimmer Dust then sprayed the water it it didn't stay on the gloss pattern

When I had the wording on my mat I added some of the Sunflower Shimmer Dust and sprayed it with some water so it gives a few different shades of yellow

I used the Bling Colour Blast Paste through a stencil its so cool cause it still shows the colours underneath but has a raised shimmery texture

I mixed some of the Sunflower Shimmer Dust into the gesso and here you can see how the texture paste has become transparent enough to show the background pattern

The flower was coloured with the Duke Shimmer Dust

Thank you for visiting and I hoe you will come back soon xx

Fairies for Memory Maze Design

Fairies are everywhere you just have to look ...

Our grass was very damp and we had some fairies move in so I made sure I snapped some photos

I found some little plastic mushrooms and painted them

The fairies wings have the Microfine White Glitter painted on them

and used the glitter on the flowers and around the frame

The frame was painted with the new Ranger oxide inks

Products I used
